Bulk Italian sausage, chopped red pepper and fresh mushrooms flavours this creamy meat sauce for the tortellini.
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, bring 2 quarts of water to a boil
- Add the tortellini
- Cook according to package directions until pasta is tender
- Meanwhile in a large skillet, add the oil
- Cook sausage, onion, red pepper and mushrooms over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain
- Add in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg
- Stir in flour until blended
- Gradually add the milk
- Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened
- Drain tortellini and add to sausage mixture
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce
