Don't confuse Creole cooking with spicy hot, this is not a hot dish, but one with a lot of flavour, served over rice.

Don’t confuse Creole cooking with spicy hot, this is not a hot dish, but one with a lot of flavour, served over rice.

Instructions

  1. Heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet
  2. Blend in flour, stirring occasionally until browned, be careful not to over do it
  3. Add water gradually and cook until thickened and smooth
  4. Add remaining ingredients except rice; cover and simmer for 12 minutes
  5. Remove bay leaf and lemon slice
  6. Serve over rice
