A fun and surprising jelly that makes a great gift. Root beer works beautifully, but cola, cream soda, or Dr. Pepper are equally delicious — try them all!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups root beer beverage
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 bottle liquid pectin

Instructions

  1. Combine root beer, sugar, and water in a large saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Add liquid pectin. Stir constantly and bring back to a hard boil for 30 seconds.
  3. Ladle into clean hot jars.
  4. Process for 5 minutes in a boiling water bath canner.

Notes

Also works great with cola, cream soda, or Dr. Pepper — they all work best. A fun one to experiment with!
