White chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, and strawberry flavoured layers are in this Neapolitan cheesecake
This delicious layered cheesecake features three distinct flavors - chocolate, white chocolate, and strawberry - creating a beautiful Neapolitan-inspired dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
- 5 tbsp butter or margarine, melted, divided
- 3 (8oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 (1oz) squares semisweet chocolate, divided
- 2 1/2 squares (2 1/2 oz) white baking chocolate, divided
- 1/3 cup mashed sweetened strawberries
- 2 tsp shortening, divided
Instructions
- Combine the crumbs with 3 tbsp butter
- Press into an ungreased 9-inch springform pan
- Bake at 350°F for 8 minutes; Cool
- In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth
- Beat in eggs, one at a time
- Add the vanilla
- Divide into 3 portions, about 1 2/3 cups each
- Melt 2 squares semisweet chocolate and stir into 1 portion of the batter
- Melt 2 squares of white chocolate and stir into second portion
- Stir strawberries into remaining batter
- Spread the semisweet mixture evenly over crust
- Carefully spread white chocolate mixture on top, and then strawberry mixture
- Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 300°F
- Bake for 50-55 minutes or until center is nearly set
- Remove from oven. Run knife around rim to prevent cracking. Cool
- Remove from pan
- Melt remaining semisweet chocolate, remaining butter and 1 tsp of shortening; cool for 2 minutes
- Pour over cake
- Melt remaining white chocolate and shortening; drizzle on top
