Brandied Cherries

Cherries with a kick!

A delicious canning recipe for brandied cherries that adds a kick to your preserved fruit collection.

Instructions

  1. Wash and pit cherries
  2. Combine sugar, water & lemon juice in a large pot
  3. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to a simmer
  4. Add cherries & simmer until hot throughout
  5. Remove from heat; stir in brandy
  6. Pack hot cherries into hot jars, leaving 1/2” headspace
  7. Ladle hot syrup over cherries, leaving 1/4” headspace
  8. Remove air bubbles
  9. Adjust two-piece caps
  10. Process 10 minutes in a boiling-water canner

Makes about 6 pints.
